Be Respectful Godmodding, IC/OOC line-crossing, and plagiarism are not tolerated. Likewise, we do not tolerate the harassment or bullying of our members. We encourage our members to resolve issues between themselves whenever possible, but the mod team is available for assistance.
Be Courteous Material that might be triggering and/or NSFW should be clearly labeled and placed behind a cut with appropriate warnings.
Have Fun Our community thrives because we have wonderful, creative members who are committed to telling their stories.

Usernames should be out of character but relate to your character's comicverse (CV) identity.
PBs must be 18+, cannot be deceased, and must be able to be found easily via online search and have 'official' results available.
We do not allow PB or CV challenges or overrides.
We welcome racebending but do not allow whitewashing. If you choose a CV identity who is written as a POC, you may not use a white PB.
We welcome transgender and gender fluid characters.
CVs from Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image Comics, IDW, Titan, Boom! Studios and Valiant Comics may be used as long as they fit into the hero/villain theme. We do not allow characters published by Dynamite to be played. As of August 2021, we allow for licensed characters from these publishers to be played. Licensed characters are characters that originated in other forms of media but also appear in comic books. For example, Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer is now available for play as Buffy has a series of licensed comics published by Boom! Studios (and formerly Dark Horse).

ACTIVITY TRACKER - members are responsible for submitting monthly activity to the Activity Tracker.
INTRODUCTIONS - upon acceptance, new characters must post an introduction and reply to responses before next adds to avoid removal. To intro, players can choose between posting an interactive post OR answering five questions from this question bank.
MONTHLY ACTIVITY - Each activity cycle ends on the last day of the month. Activity is one interactive post with comments enabled. Interactive posts may include scene starters posted to the friends page or plot posts for in-game events. While the initial posting of a scene starter can go towards activity, the total word count for that scene can be counted towards points.
CV WEEK - characters are automatically signed up for CV week but can opt out each month if they choose. Characters who are added after the start of CV week are automatically opted out.
FRIENDS LIST - friends lists should be kept up to date so that all members can view your updates! Unfriending other journals in the community — for whatever reason — is not allowed and will result in removal from the game.
HIATUSES/EXTENSIONS - both extensions and hiatuses may be requested here.

Holds last for 72 hours and extensions for 24 hours. It's up to you to know when your hold expires and to request extensions as needed. Please check the Taken List before placing a hold to make sure your PB or CV isn't already taken.
Bios must include your character's basic information and history as well as information about their CV's abilities and attributes. We don't have a minimum word count for biographies but we do ask that they're detailed enough for others to get a good sense of the character and their history to help build lines.
Examples (two scenes and two narratives or journal entries) should be dropped off at the dropbox.
Journals should contain backdated OOC and IC contact posts.
Current members aren't required to provide examples when bringing in additional characters, but we do ask that they disclose their other character(s) currently in game. Failure to do so is grounds for removal.
Each player may have up to four characters. We ask that players refrain from writing multiple CV identities that have significant overlap with each other.
Rejected applications will be deleted.

PB CHANGES PB changes must be requested via the dropbox and approved prior to switching out icons and graphics. We will allow for up to 3 PB changes over the course of a character's stint at the community, but changing back to a previous PB will not count against that limit. We reserve the right to change this rule if we see that it becomes abused.
CV CHANGES we allow for one CV change per character. Changing a character's CV will require that the player undergo the application process for that character once again. While it is preferred that any previous CV history will be wiped out as if that character has never experienced a CV week before, we understand that in-game plot devices such as the Reality Gem may be used to explain these changes while retaining previous CV history.
RETURNING CHARACTERS If a character is removed from ~comicbooks, either by the player's request or for inactivity, the player has up to 1 month from the date of removal to reapply that same character and retain all points earned as well as any unlocked rewards. Characters that are reapplied after 1 month will start over. Alternately, upon leaving ~comicbooks, a player can also choose to bank any unredeemed points in ~rewards. Those points will be banked for up to 1 month and must be claimed within that time frame; otherwise the points will be discarded.
